If you had the power to solve one, major, world problem, what would it be and why?
Patrick Telles

If I were to solve one problem in the world, I would solve war. I don't think there is really a point to war. It is just a bunch of men and women fighting.

People aren't treated equally espically the homeless. God had created us to live in a beautiful word what I liked to call Earth. I believe that every single individual should be treated with proper care like a new born baby. If we dont't follow this, we are breaking the Ten Commandments. People, homeless, needs to live in a nice and beautiful haven with some smart and talented chef such as Gordon Ramsay who can make such authentic, beautiful, outstanding, and fantastic food.

Patrick, you're right; war is a big problem. But, it's not useless. War is usually started because people want freedom and rights, not because people want to randomly fight each other.

I have to say that I disagree with Patrick's comment because it's not always just a bunch of men and women fighting. Some wars are for specific causes. Take the Civil War for example. The Union and the Confederacy didn't fight because they wanted to. It was over slavery and the economic lifestyle of the South, whether it would continue or end. In the end, slavery was abolished and the Union won. Some wars may seem pointless, but they change the world.

Patrick, war is a big problem but I would solve world hunger because so many people in the world don't have the money to get the nutritions they need to saty healthy and survive.

I agree with you. There is no meaning for war. Whats the point war is just death and sorrow. We should be in peace.

If I had the power to solve a global problem, it would global warming. Global warming is something that will graduating become worse as time passes. I hope that we do not want our future generations to live through twisted environment. It is also something that little thing that we do, matters. If I were to have power, it'd me much wasier to influence people to do the right thing and tell them to carry this on. Also about war, I think war is a morbid response to wanting to be at peace. Most wars in history and now are from those who wants to earn freedom or be at peace with one another. If leaders around the world were to gather to talk about being at peace, the topic itself would cause a fight. I don't think it's useless but I'd say it's just pointless.

My comment is on Patrick's comment that war is pointless. I agree with him, but I think solving famine is more important. There is no reason people should be hungry because there is plenty of food in the world to share.

I'm responding to Patrick because I would also like to solve world war because I don't believe in killing innocent people.

My comment is on Ethan Park- Grade 6
You might think war is pointless in some way and I guess you can. For example, you might think why is there war when you can just talk into it and make peace? I have one question for you. Why do you think we had independance war? Yes a bunch of women and men are fighting but think about why their fighting. What their fighting for? Who their fighting for.

I agree with patrick it said these men and woman risk their life's.The world would be different place if we had peace there would be no crime ,and war is for reasons and reasons only.

If i could solve one, major, world problem, it would be war. War is just pointless violence and it just ends with people dead. War makes nobody happy. Maybe you get what you want, but are the lives of others worth it?

If I could solve one world problem I would solve the problem of cruelty, cruelty to all things. Some people in this world always find a way to be cruel to things, cruel to people, cruel to animals, even cruel to our planet. If only everyone can learn to treat things they way they want to be treated we could live in a peaceful world.

If I had the power to solve a world problem, I would solve the world problem of war, because war is just killing many innocent people and is a huge waste of time. Think of how many more accomplishments we would have made if we didn't have war holding us back. We put a lot of money into our soldiers. Maybe if war didn't exist, we could all have flying cars!

If I could solve one problem in the world, I would solve world hunger. There are millions of people, including children, that are starving in all parts of the world. Those people do not deserve to starve. I think all people deserve a neccessary 3 meals a day, no matter of their race, culture, or any other thing.

I agree with Jaymee. I think that we should try to stop world hunger because it is a major problem that takes away many lives.

If I had the power to end one world problem it would be war. War is just a violent war of getting what you want. Instead of war we could just sign treaties and be peaceful. War is not worth the lives of innocent people caught in the crossfire between wars.
